What they all have in common is their love of European clothing, appreciation of its quality, style and uniqness. jeu de jupe was born to bring a fresh, new look to Walnut Creek and to introduce to the American market, what the three of them already knew. Although Valerie and Susan eventually phased out of jeu de jupe for family reasons, all three remain close friends.
Haleh Kimelman the owner, carries the same concept and will continue to deliver to jeu de jupe customers the same quality, styles and customer service as they have come to expect. Susan and Valerie continue to give creative input to Haleh and to jeu de jupe.
How it all Started:
Haleh and Valerie met when Haleh hired her to teach her French. They started sharing their mutual appreciation of European fashion. Quickly, they became friends. Soon they started talking about owning a boutique together. Valerie and her sister-in-law Susan were thinking about opening a boutique long before they met Haleh, and co-incidentally, Haleh had been thinking about having her own European shop before she met them.
